Perhaps the greatest understanding is that the Black Arts Movement is something that has already happened. We, the Black Children of the 80's, are the culmination of the direct understanding of that which had just previously occurred. There is no neo-movement, rebirth, or resurrection of the forgotten but we are involved in a conscious continuation of the present progressive. And with this collective understanding ... we create, not in a vacuum but in relation to whom we have been created to be. Walk on. Liberation is no longer a sought after idea (or ideal existence), it is an innate and tangible reality that we must work towards embodying and exalt in the hard won sense of the limitlessness of our freedom and cultural identity.
People always talking bout Niggas (or Niggers) ... what they do or don't do or should do. My creative commissioner, Mr. 2.0, and I came up with a little parody about the lies people tell persons designated as Niggas (or Niggers). This skit evolved into a short PSA called Nigga.

The word on the state of Young America!
The word Nigga has been a soar in Black America's
side for over 4 centuries. Although the word has recently passed away
and been buried due to the efforts of the NAACP and the recent tirades
by "Seinfeld" actor Micheal Richards and radio shock jock Don Imus,
will this word continue to hold power over an entire nation? The
"N"-word is definitely having the "best week ever" every week for the
entire year of 2007. Hopefully next year, the media and American
society will give it a rest and let it marinate. Many feel the "N" word
will always and forever be a part of the Black American lexicon,
regardless of its negative connotation passed down from years of
oppression and white degradation.
